چکیده

Galaxolide (HHCB) and tonalide (AHTN) are polycyclic musk compounds (PMCs) used in household personal care products that have been included on the list as emerging contaminants of environmental concern due to their ubiquity aquatic terrestrial environments. There still exists a dearth information neurotoxicity endocrine disrupting effects these contaminants, especially for marine estuarine species. Here, we assessed neuroendocrine HHCB AHTN using adult clams, Ruditapes philippinarum, yolk-sac larvae sheepshead minnow, Cyprinodon variegatus. The clams were treated with concentrations (0.005–50 ?g/L) each compound 21 days. Meanwhile, minnow exposed 0.5, 5 50 ?g/L 3 Enzyme activities related (acetylcholinesterase - AChE), function (cyclooxygenase COX), energy reserves (total lipids TL) R. philippinarum. Gene expression levels cyp19 vtg1 measured C. variegatus qPCR. Our results indicated induction AChE COX while exposure significantly inhibited COX. was downregulated versus control. this study demonstrate might pose neurotoxic coastal ecosystems.

In vitro investigating of anticancer activity of focuxanthin from marine brown seaweed species

Breast cancer is the most common cancer type among women all over the world. Chemotherapy is the use of anticancer medicines for treating cancer but it has many side effects and cells may become resistant to these chemical medicines. Therefore, finding new compounds of natural origin could be a promising solution to this problem. The aim of the current study was to evaluate anticancer activity ...

Evaluation of in vitro anti-leishmaniasis activity of three marine species from Persian Gulf

Introduction: Recently, the drugs with marine resources have been considered due to the lower costs and greater compatibility with patients. In the present study, the extracts of three marine organisms from the Persian Gulf; Holothuris parva, Ophiocoma scolopendrina and Echinometra matheai, were prepared and evaluated their in vitro anti-leishmaniasis effects. Materials & Methods: All three mar...

Morphological, chemical and species delimitation analyses provide new taxonomic insights into two groups of Rinodina

The genus Rinodina (Physciaceae), with approximately 300 species, has been subject to few phylogenetic studies. Consequently taxonomic hypotheses in Rinodina are largely reliant on phenotypic data, while hypotheses incorporating DNA dependent methods remain to be tested. Here we investigate Rinodina degeliana/R. subparieta and the Rinodina mniaraea group, which previously have not been subjecte...
